Seall na Rud’ a Rinn Sinn!

Tha sinn toilichte ri fhaicinn clas aig Mr Kelly a-rithist! Bha iad a’cuideachadh anns a’ ghàrradh agus rinn iad “Fashion Show” dhuinn cuideachd! Tòrr Spòrs!

Seall an den againn a rinn sinn anns a’choille! Chunnaic sinn Sionnach beag cuideachd! Chluich sinn ceòl anns a’choille agus bha sinn a dannsa!

Bha Liza an seo cuideachd anns an talla agus rinn i ceòl còmhla rinn, bha sinn anns a’bhata agus bha I a’cluich am bocsa dhuinn!

We are happy to see Mr Kelly’s class again! They were helping us in the garden and they did a Fashion Show or us! Loads of fun!

Also, look at our den that we made in the forrest! We saw a wee fox too! We played music in the forrest and danced.

Liza was here in the hall to do music with us, we were in the boat and she was playing her accordion for us!

Beathaichean!

Tha “Beathaichean” an cuspair againn an-dràsta agus tha sinn uabhasach trang leis! Dh’ionnsaich sinn òrain mar “Guth nam Beathaichean”, “Cat Cat Tunnag”, “Bò anns a’Chidsin” agus “Ruith ars’ an Rabaid”. Leugh sinn “A Shutha Chòir” an t-sheachdainn sa chaidh agus rinn sinn fhìn Su anns an Sgoil-Àraich!

An t-seachdainn seo, tha sinn a’leughadh “Bheat an Su” air Twinkl. Tha uidh aig na clann anns an leabhar seo agus tha a h-uile duine a’tuigsinn na làithean na seachdainn a-nis!

Cuideachd, Tha na clann a’dèanamh snàc iad fhèin agus rinn iad “placemats” cho snog!

“Animals” is our topuc of interest at the moment and we are so busy with it! We’ve learned songs such as “Guth nam Beathaichean”, “Cat Cat Tunnag”, “Bò anns a’Chidsin” and “Ruith ars’ an Rabaid”. (You can find most of these songs on https://www.gaidhlig-nan-og.scot/en/animals/) We have read ” A Shutha Chòir” last week and we made our own zoo in Sgoil-Àraich!

This week, we are reading “Bheat an Su” on Twinkl. The children have shown great interest in this book and they are all understanding the days of the week in Gaelic now!

Also, all the children have the opportunity to organise snack themselves and have made such lovely placemats!

Tòrr Spòrs!

An t-seachdain sa chaidh thòisich Ruby agus Miloh còmhla rinn. Tha an àireamh de dhuine a’ fàs bho triur gu coignear a-nis!

An-diugh, thòisich sinn air an cuspair “Uisge”. Tha sinn ag òl uisge aig àm snac, tha sinn a’ cluich ri uisge a-muigh agus tha sinn a’ cleachdadh uisge airson glanadh ar làmhan! Bidh sinn a’ smaointinn mu dheidhinn uisge anns an diofar àitichean m.e amar-snàmh, lochan, bhon an tap mar sin air adhart… Agus cuideachd, cò tha a’ fuireach san t-uisge?

Rinn sinn builleagan an-diugh le siabainn agus uisge agus bha sinn a’ feuchainn dè na diofar innealan a’ dèanamh builleagan ceart.

Last week Ruby and Miloh started with us. The number of children has risen from three to five now!

Today we started the topic “Water”. We drink water at snack time, we play with water outside and we use water to clean our hands! We will think about water in different places e.g swimming pool, lochs, from the tap etc. An also, who lives in the water?

We made bubbles today using soap and water and we were trying different tools to see what would make good bubbles.

A’ Chiad Seachdainn.

Bha deagh sheachdain againn aig Sgoil-Àraich Ghlinn Urchadain. An tòiseach na sheachdain bha bocsa mòr a’ seo! Bha na clann ag obair cruaidh le pinn agus siosaran airson doras agus uinneagan a dhèanamh. Sgrìobh iad uile ainmean agus delabhan aca a-staigh agus a-muigh am bocsa, tha e a’ coimhead sgioinneil a-nis! An ath-latha, cha robh bocsa mòr againn ach bha na clann a’ cluich le itealan! Bha seo sgoinneil ri fhaicinn oir rinn iad fhèin an obair agus bha tòrr spòrs aig a h-uile duine.

Air Diardaoin, chaidh sinn dhan a’ choille còmhla ri Ionaid Cùraim-chloinne Ghlinn Urchadain. Às deidh an stòiridh “Mo Chiad Leabhar Bheathaichean Choille” a leughadh rinn na cloinne liosta den rudan bhon leabhar. Fhuair sinn clipboards agus peansailean agus dh’fhalbh sinn dhan a’ choille. Nuair am faic na clann rudan air an liosta, m.e craobh, rinn na clann comharra ri taobh an dealbh. Chunnaic a h-uile duine tòrr craobhan agus lòintean!

Tha a h-uile duine a bha seo a’ tuigsinn an cànan agus tha iad a’ tòiseachadh cànan a chleachdadh cuideachd! Tha seo sgoinneil ri fhaicinn ged a tha ùine cho goirid aca còmhla rinn.

We’ve had a good week at Glen Urquhart Gaelic Nursery. At the beginning of the week there was a big box here! The children worked hard with pens and scissors to make a door and windows. They all wrote their names and pictures inside and outside the box, it’s looking fantastic now! The next day we didn’t have a big box but the children were playing with an aeroplane! This was great to see as this was the children’s own work and everyone had great fun.

On Thursday we went to the woods with the Glen Urquhart Childcare Centre. After reading a story “Mo Chiad Leabhar Bheathaichean a Choille” the children made a list of things from the book. We got clipboards and pencils and we left for the woods. When the children saw something on the list, e.g a tree, the children marked next to the picture. Everyone saw a lot of trees and puddles!

Everyone that was here is understanding the language and they are starting to use the language too! This is excellent to see even when they are only with us for such a short time.

Hallo a h-uile duine!

Thòisich a’ chiad sgoilearan gu Sgoil-Àraich ùr againn aig Ghlinn Urchadain an t-seachdain seo. Tha ùidh anns a’ Ghàidhlig aca nuair a tha iad a’faighneachd dè tha faclan Beurla a’ciallachadh anns a’ Ghaidhlig tro chluich. m.e “What is crocodile in Gaelic? Crogall.” Cuideachd, bha na clann ag èisteachd math ris an òrdugh “sgioblaich suas” agus bha iad ga dhèanamh. Carson nach fheuch sin aig an taigh?

We’ve had a brilliant start to the week welcoming our first Sgoil-Àraich pupils into our new setting. The children have shown a great interest in learning Gaelic through play by asking what words – that they already know in English – are in Gaelic. E.g “What is crocodile in Gaelic? Crogall.” Those that have attended yesterday and today are beginning to familiarise themselves with a simple instruction to “sgioblaich suas” meaning to “tidy up”. Why not try this at home?
