Hallo a h-uile duine!

Thòisich a’ chiad sgoilearan gu Sgoil-Àraich ùr againn aig Ghlinn Urchadain an t-seachdain seo. Tha ùidh anns a’ Ghàidhlig aca nuair a tha iad a’faighneachd dè tha faclan Beurla a’ciallachadh anns a’ Ghaidhlig tro chluich. m.e “What is crocodile in Gaelic? Crogall.” Cuideachd, bha na clann ag èisteachd math ris an òrdugh “sgioblaich suas” agus bha iad ga dhèanamh. Carson nach fheuch sin aig an taigh?

We’ve had a brilliant start to the week welcoming our first Sgoil-Àraich pupils into our new setting. The children have shown a great interest in learning Gaelic through play by asking what words – that they already know in English – are in Gaelic. E.g “What is crocodile in Gaelic? Crogall.” Those that have attended yesterday and today are beginning to familiarise themselves with a simple instruction to “sgioblaich suas” meaning to “tidy up”. Why not try this at home?
